The Andy Griffith Show

I love to watch T.A.G.S. reruns. Actually, I have the first five seasons on dvd (the b & w episodes). It doesn't seem to me the color ones are as good as the black and whites. We also have the trivia game. Joy and I have played it more than anyone else. She usually beats me. We have been to Mt. Airy, N. C. where Andy Griffith grew up and where rumor has it that Mayberry is loosely based on this town. I think what I love most about the shows are the life lessons to be learned. A few in particular stand out. For example the one where Aunt Bea is pretending to care for this man so he will propose, so she can "move out of Andy and Helen's way". In the end, Andy explains to Aunt Bea that nothing can be "best for her" unless it's best for them all. It makes me cry every time. I suppose what I love most is the idea of a simple, unhurried life.
